This week provided an opportunity for our Advanced Skilled Practitioners to come together to look at the facilitation of Adult Learning.
Staff from across the Trust attended.
ASP
Part of the session saw us designing what we believe are the skills and behaviours of a facilitator.

Here are some of the participants takeaways from the course:
"Difference between facilitation and training. Importance of getting ready for training and planning. Tips and tricks to facilitate.""I feel I've been given plenty or tips and tricks to support me in facilitating. I have better understanding of adult learning and why this will impact facilitating.""Differences between training and facilitation. The difference between adult learning and child learning. Key skills and behaviours of a facilitator and how to embed this into my practice. Importance of communication styles. Facilitating setups.""I've realised speaking in front of a group is not as difficult as I first thought."
And here are a few pieces of feedback:
"Really good session. Particularly enjoyed getting to have a go at facilitation without the pressure. Good handouts and theory behind what was taught.""Fabulous session - cheeky not telling us that we would practice!""Fantastically facilitated by Liz and Carrie. Leading by example and not just telling us.""I have a lot of new skills that can be added to my toolkit, really enjoyed it.""Well organised and lovely trainers."
Our Aspiring Leaders continued their leadership journey on their Development Day. Our group had to design their own school, Bright Minds Academy, focusing on visions & values, staffing structures and a welcoming building creating an environment conducive to learning and wellbeing. Some very creative presentations and great teamwork.

What a way to finish the week other than to receive this feedback!
New Bridge School hosted SENCOs from Manchester Secondary Schools as part of the Leading Inclusive Schools programme.
We enjoyed a tour of the school hosted by Karen Bingley (NBS Lead for Extended Schools and Health).
Staff went away with such positive ideas about inclusive classrooms.
Thank you to all staff @newbridgegroup that support the Trust's external work.
